What to Expect

What should I book for my first time?

We recommend a 55 minute session for your first appointment. This is so our Stretch Therapist can understand your needs and goals for the session and spend extra time and care on both local and global muscle groups.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Drink plenty of water beforehand, as this can help your muscles respond better to stretching. Also ensure you wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows you to move freely, and aim to arrive 5 minutes early so you can settle in and start your session relaxed.

What happens when I arrive?

Your session will begin with a quick review of your intake form and a conversation about your goals. Your therapist will assess your current mobility, identify any areas of tightness or discomfort, and tailor the session to suit your body and your goals.

Will my stretch be painful?

Safety and comfort are our top priorities. During your session, we aim for a level of intensity that feels effective but still comfortable. You may feel deep tension as tight muscles are lengthened, but it should feel like a satisfying release rather than pain. Your therapist will check in with you throughout the session, and you’re always encouraged to communicate so the pressure feels right for you.

What happens during the session?

During your session, you’ll lie comfortably on a treatment table while your therapist guides you through a series of assisted stretches tailored to your body. They’ll gently move you into each position, applying controlled pressure to help release tension and improve mobility. You’ll be encouraged to relax and breathe throughout, while your therapist checks in to ensure everything feels comfortable.

What should I do after the session?

After your session, we recommend drinking plenty of water to help support your muscles and recovery. Try to take it easy for the rest of the day and notice how your body feels — many people feel looser and more mobile straight away. Gentle movement like walking can help maintain the benefits, and regular stretch sessions will support longer-term improvements in flexibility and mobility.

Your Questions, Answered.

  • Assisted stretching is a one-on-one session where a trained therapist guides your body through a series of stretches. Instead of stretching on your own, you’re supported into each movement, allowing for a deeper, more effective stretch while your body stays relaxed.

  • Yes — you don’t need to be flexible to start. In fact, most clients come to us because they feel tight or restricted. Sessions are tailored to your body, so everything is adjusted to your current range of motion and comfort level.

  • For safety reasons, we cannot provide assisted stretching to individuals who:

    • Are currently pregnant

    • Have undergone major surgery within the past 12 months

    • Do not have medical clearance to resume normal physical activity

    • Have existing muscular injuries or tears

    • Have been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

    • Under 18 years of age

  • Your therapist will start with a brief discussion about how your body is feeling and any areas of tightness. You’ll then be guided through a personalised stretch session on a treatment table, focusing on key areas like hips, back, and shoulders. Most people leave feeling noticeably looser and more relaxed.

  • Assisted stretching focuses specifically on improving mobility and flexibility through guided movement. It’s not a massage and not a clinical treatment, but it sits in between — combining hands-on support with structured, movement-based techniques.

  • We recommend booking at least one session per week or fortnight if your goal is to increase flexibility and reduce tightness, or once per month to maintain your current level.

If you’re very active or play sports, it can also be beneficial to book a session after a big workout or game to support recovery, reduce soreness, and help your body move more freely.

  • Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing such as activewear or gym clothes. This allows your therapist to move your body easily and ensures you can relax fully into each stretch.

  • No referral is needed. It’s designed to be an accessible, effective way to support your body and movement.

However if you would like to claim your stretch session on your private health, you may require a referral from your GP. Chat to us for more info!
