Assisted stretching or stretch therapy is a one-on-one session where a trained stretch therapist guides your body through a personalised series of dynamic stretches to help your body move and feel better.
Instead of stretching on your own, you’re supported into each movement, allowing for a deeper, more effective stretch while your body stays relaxed. We also use contract-release techniques which allows your body to stretch further than you can alone.
-
Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing like activewear or gym clothes. Avoid jeans, skirts or any tight or revealing clothing.
This will allow your therapist to move your body easily and ensures you can relax fully into each stretch.
Please also ensure to wear socks for hygiene purposes.
-
Your therapist will start with a brief discussion about how your body is feeling and any areas of tightness. This may include a brief assessment of any tight areas to see how your body moves.
You’ll then be guided through a personalised stretch session on a treatment table, focusing on key areas like quads, calves, hips, back, and shoulders. Most people leave feeling noticeably looser, lighter and more relaxed.

Depending on your initial level of flexibility and mobility, it may be beneficial to start with regular sessions until your body is at a point of maintenance.
Many clients benefit from sessions once a week or fortnightly. Then move to once per month for maintenance.
Regular sessions help to maintain flexibility, reduce muscle tension, and support long-term improvements in how your body feels and moves.

Assisted stretching focuses specifically on improving mobility and flexibility through guided movement. It’s not a massage and not a clinical treatment, but it sits somewhere in between. It combines hands-on support with structured, movement-based techniques.

Assisted stretching is suitable for a wide range of people, from those dealing with everyday stiffness to individuals looking to improve athletic performance and recovery.
It is especially beneficial for office workers who sit for long periods, as it helps relieve tight hips, shoulders, and lower back tension.
Active individuals such as gym-goers, runners, and athletes can use assisted stretching to improve mobility, reduce muscle soreness, and support recovery between workouts.
It can also help people experiencing poor posture, limited flexibility, or general muscle tightness, as well as older adults who want to maintain mobility and move more comfortably.
Whether your goal is to reduce discomfort, move more freely, or enhance performance, assisted stretching can be tailored to suit your needs.
